Therapeutic Flow w Ernesto Thursdays, 11am-12:30pm.  Therapeutic Flow is a gentle yet challenging class that utilizes specific yoga postures and sequencing to promote spinal stability, strength and flexibility. The class potentially helps heal back, joint & muscle injuries and weakness and increases healthy joint range of motion, postural alignment and balance as well as reducing stress.  This class incorporates the use of props for added support and comfort.

Ashtanga Modified Second Series with Silvie Gausman Wednesdays 6pm. Vinyasa,Twist and backbend your lil' heart out.

Our Pre-natal class is offers a "birthing buddy" class. June 3 next one!

Founded 2002. We offer Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Hatha, Pre Natal, Kids Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative and Meditation. Check out our by donation classes(3 per week) and great package deals on classes.
We also host the Aananda Yoga Teacher Trainings, Community Events, Yoga Workshops and more. Located in a walk-up 2nd floor studio infused with natural light and ocean breezes, our Studio Red windows open East onto the Middle River. Watch the sun rise as you make your sun salutations and the moon rise as you melt into final relaxation. Studio Blue windows face west and often reveal spectacular sunsets. Relax with a complimentary cup of tea, or check out the great Yoga- to- street clothing and accessories, books, scents and adornments in our lobby shop. Our teachers, from diverse experience and backgrounds all share the same intent- to share their practice and teachings with you in a way that is creative, nurturing, and challenging.       My chiropractor loaned me a Raquel Welch book of Bikram Yoga from the 70's.

      Drama.

      Anything with robust or unexpected flavors.

      The resilience of the human spirit.


A true Floridian, Karen earned her Yoga Teacher Certification, with an Ashtanga focus, at It's Yoga in San Francisco in 2001 while living in the Bay Area. Her first teaching positions began one week later teaching stressed out Grad Students at Stanford University, and at the Palo Alto YMCA where she taught  large classes of ages 8-80. This diverse student experience was a great inspiration. Later that summer, Karen moved back to South Florida, with the goal of creating a vibrant, creative, and grounded place for Yoga classes, community and education. After teaching solo for one year, she opened Inspire Yoga in 2002(as changing the name to Red Pearl in 2004).

Trained in Classical Ballet for 12 years, Karen brings alignment, detail, balance and playfulness to her teaching. She has a Fine Arts/Photography Degree from the University of South Florida and has been a Visual Stylist for Neiman Marcus since 1993.
Three of the many things we love about Karen are: Integrity, Detail, and Love of Great Food.
note: Karen was voted "best Yoga Instructor by City Link Magazine in 2007" and the studio has received yearly local recognition for its other classes and teachers since 2003.



Tamara White

Originally from Calgary, Canada,Tamara has been in South Florida since 2003.Tamara earned her RYT200 hour yoga training with Fox Vinyasa. Tamara's eclectic teaching style incorporates Pranayama with a variety of methodology and techniques; This allows her to tailor her classes to the unique needs of each student.
Through the awareness that Yoga has brought Tamara, she has been able to tap into her serenity on and off the mat. As Red Pearl's Assistant Manager,Tamara's grounded nature and her eye for detail helps keep Red Pearl running smoothly. She's been lovingly nicknamed "the auditor" by some of our fellow teachers.

Three of the many things we love about Tamara are: Calm, Committment, Authenticity.

 


Erika Metz

    In a gym class in 1995
  3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
    Nothing. Once I have moved on it always sticks.
  4. Favorite type of food?
    Colorful and plant-based.
  5. What or Who inspires you?
    My dog Madison who seems to have 9 lives.


Erika practiced Yoga on her own for five years with the guidance of CD's and books and then started taking group classes. After another 5 years of practice, she wanted a deeper experience and earned her Yoga Alliance 200 hour Teacher Training thru Aananda Yoga Yoga Teacher Training with Lisa Pumper, Joy Kochmer and Surrendran Panderan.Erika currently teaches Vinyasa, Yin, Modified Ashtanga, Meditation and Gentle/Basics classes.

In addition to her Hatha training Erika is also 200 hour certified in Budokon, by its creator Cameron Shayne and also studies in the Martial Arts of Jujitsu and Tae Kwon Do.

Most recently, Erika is also a Master Reiki practitioner. She often uses this energy healing on her human clients as well as their pets.
Erika holds a B.S. in International Business.

    People who openly share their wisdom & love.

    Kate found yoga through a life-long love of dance and movement. Every one of her classes are unique. The classes develop organically, depending on the students needs, experience level, and overall energy of the group. Kate uses inspiring music and creative playlists to help move the practice through a seamless, graceful flow. She is constantly learning and absorbing yoga from workshops, nationally recognized teachers, students, and self-practice. Her teacher training certification from The Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach influenced her attention to proper alignment and truly honoring your own body. Yoga had the power to transform Kate's life and beliefs and sharing yoga has become one of her greatest joys.
Kate also has a degree in finance from the University of Florida and has helped us out with many a spreadsheet!

Adam Bator

    Looking for a solution for back pain and anxiety.
  3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
    Chasing the greenback.

    Curries
  5. What or Who inspires you?
    Single parents, particularly my mom. 

    Adam is a Certified Yoga Teacher, an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, an NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Functional Movement Screen Certified Specialist. It was his own chronic back pain at age 20 that lead Adam to explore what it would take to heal his back.  After exhausting all conventional resources, Adam found One Human Performance Center in Pine Brook, NJ.  The founder, Eric D’Agati, worked  with Adam, focusing on corrective exercise and pain management. The relief Adam felt was suprisingly quick and it sparked a passion within him to help others. Adam enrolled in the National Academy of Sports Medicine and was certified as a personal trainer. He continued his education as a trainer at the One Human Performance Center 

    After just one Yoga class with Isaac Pena at Sankalpah Yoga, Adam realized the benefits of incorporating Yoga into exercise routines. Adam enrolled in Teacher Training with the Sankalpah College of Yoga in New York City, where he earned his Yoga teacher certification and has been teaching Yoga ever since.
    Adam instructs a free-style type of Vinyasa Flow creating physically and mentally challenging routines that flow smoothly from one asana to the next. His hands-on approach and unpredictable routines promote students to simultaneously focus on form, breath, and endurance, resulting in classes that help create a calming and meditative effect for the mind and body.
    Three of the many things we love about Adam are: calm intensity, a quest to learn more, and an adventurous nature.

      Jessica Lohrey Cobb

        In the car.
      2. How did you discover Yoga?
        "Lilias, Yoga, and You"  on PBS when I was 3. My mom did it daily and I tried to imitate her.
      3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
        If I gave it up it's because it no longer tempts me ;)
      4. Favorite type of food?
        Indian, Mexican and anything with garlic!
      5. What or Who inspires you?
        Nature and Music feed my soul.

          


      Jessica began practicing yoga as a way to stay in shape and quickly noticed the positive changes it was making in other areas of her life. After a life-changing motorcycle accident, Jessica's healing process led her deeper into her yoga practice. Inspired by what she had experienced, she decided to become a yoga teacher.  Jessica studied under lifelong yoga practitioner Mike Noury at Yoga of India in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the last decade she has studied various forms of yoga in the Krishnamacharya and Sivananda lineages.

      Jessica holds a B.S. in Zoology and spent more than 10 years working as an environmental educator. Her interest in physiology and anatomy has fueled her exploration of yoga as therapy.
      Jessica is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
      Jessica founded her company, Tree of India as a yoga instruction business in 2007. She began to incorporate the use of essential oils into her classes and when her unique blends became popular among students and fellow yoga teachers, Tree of India Aromatherapy was born! Jessica uses concepts from yoga philosophy, ayurveda, and traditional aromatherapy to create blends that rebalance body, mind, and spirit.  Stop by and visit her shop next door to Red Pearl!

      Ilana Isaacson

        Painfully, at first.
      3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
        Nothing yet, actually.  Everything in moderation.  Including moderation.
      4. Favorite type of food?
        Home cooking...from all over the world!
      5. What or Who inspires you?
        The food chain.


       
      When Ilana found herself to be another "starving actress" in Los Angeles shortly after earning her B.F.A in Acting from Florida State University, the few riches she felt she had included extremely low budget cooking meditiations in her kitchenette that hadn't been renovated since before she was born, hiking some of the most beautiful terrain she'd evers seen and loving friendships. She began to observe that many of the people whe held dearest to her were embarking on the path of teaching Yoga and she was reaping all the benefits by being among their first students. That did it--Whatever could fit in Ilana's car was packed and driven back home to South Florida, where Ilana completed her Yoga Teacher Certification in 2010 with Bea Raydo.

      Ilana’s fluid classes are tailored to the needs of the student.  Her gently challenging classes are accessible, ever evolving, and inspired by a thirst for knowledge that encourages a continued exploration of all styles of yoga.

      Three of the many things we love about Ilana are: razor sharp wit, compassion and a passion for(wacky) storytelling.




      Allie Newman

        My dear friend's mom opened a studio... I've been hooked ever since!

        Sleeping until noon 
      4. Favorite type of food?
        I have a dangerous sweet tooth
      5. What or Who inspires you?
        The intuition and inherently good nature of animals and any superbly written book!


      Allie was recently certified through the Aananda Yoga teacher training program right here at Red Pearl, under the warm guidance of Lisa Pumper, Surrendran Panderran, and Joy Kochmer.

      She began to practice yoga in 2004 when she was only 16 and continues to be inspired by the balance and serenity that yoga brings to her type-A lifestyle, as well as the seemingly limitless capabilities of the human body. Allie graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in English from Florida State University

      Rhea Joannou

      1. Favorite place to meditate? 
        My meditation corner at home or on retreat.
      2. How did you discover Yoga?
        My mother.
      3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
        Self-doubt
      4. Favorite type of food? 
        Anything vegetarian and made with love.
      5. What or Who inspires you?
        Divine Nature.
          
      Originally from Europe, Rhea has been meditating since her father taught her when she was seven. Through her classes she offers creative visualization and mindfulness meditation techniques geared to all wishing to journey inward. Rhea is a certified RYT200 by Aananda Yoga Teacher training and also teaches Gentle, Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga.
      Rhea graduated from Duke University with degrees in Art History, Visual Arts and Business. Her mother tongue is French and she also has picked up Italian and Spanish through her travels; Portuguese is next...
      Three of the may things we love about Rhea are: compassion, warmth and unwaivering love. Ummm, and her problem-solving mechanical abilities.

       


       

      David Frankel

        My Grandmother.
      3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
        A few things... Can we just leave it at that?
      4. Favorite type of food?
        Homemade Indian(not too spicy)
      5. What or Who inspires you?
        The many who have stood up for what was right in despite popular opinion.


      Originally from South Florida, David traces his yoga roots to his grandmother who began her practice in the 1930’s under the instruction of the “Yogi Hari Rama” one of the early wave of Indian mystics who came to the US in the early 1900s.

      After years of practicing yoga he received his teaching certificate in 2003 in the Sivananda style and taught regularly in the Fort Lauderdale area. In 2009 David completed the Yoga South teacher training with James Kigar and Judy Weaver.  David’s yoga classes blend traditional Sivananda with Vinyasa creating a challenging and dynamic energy.

      Always mindful that the physical practice of yoga is merely a gateway to deeper self realization, his classes incorporate a strong emphasis on the philosophical teachings of yoga as taught in the ancient Hindu scriptures; particularly the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras.

      Three of the many things we love about David are:  steadiness, his world view, and he's always got a book with him.

        Originally from the Czech Republic, Silvie completed her Yoga Teacher Training with Aananda's Surrenderan Panderran. Though the training covered several styles of Yoga, her passion and personal practice is Ashtanga. Silvie has traveled to India to study with Sharath Rangswamy, the grandson of Patthabhi Jois, and to Italy to study with Ashtangi Lino Miele. She also studies at Miami Life Center with Kino MacGregor, Ana Guerra, and the other qualified teachers there.

        Three of the many things we love about Silvie are: commitment, passion, and her belief in the power of Yoga.


        Ernesto Bustamante

            In my "Man Cave" at home

             In NYC at an Ana Forrest Class; I cried for hours, it opened up the doors to begin.
        3.  What have you given up that still tempts you? 
             Cream Soda.
        4.  Favorite Type of Food?
             Anything with eggs and cheese.

        5. What or Who inspires you?
             My Father.

         
        Ernesto's classes focus on an energetic and  healing principle – to weave physical movement, intelligence, and intention into one sweaty and uplifting experience, eventually going for the silence of “not doing” in a space that does not harbor our habitual distractions.

        His most influential teachers are Nevine Michaan, Abbie Galvin, Aadil Palkhivala and the teachings of Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Ernesto continues to gain the potential on how to use asana and pranayama for healing, to deepen the inner wisdom through the opening of the heart chakra.

          Ana Guerra

             At 14 I took a class just for fun and to try something new.

             Once I truly give it up, it is no longer a temptation.
        4.  Favorite Type of Food?
             Soups.
        5. What or Who inspires you?
           
         Travel.

            Ana Guerra is a dedicated student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois' Ashtanga method and carries the heart and spirit of the Ashtanga tradition in her teachings. She completed a one year Apprenticeship program under the guidance of Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldman and Greg Nardi at Miami Life Center, and also taught regular Ashtanga Guided and Mysore classes there. She studies annually at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India, studying under Sri K Pattabhi Jois' grandson, Sharath Jois and has learned into the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga.

         She holds a Bachelors Degree in Health Science and a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine, practicing as an Acupuncture Physician. Her years of Ashtanga practice and her background in Chinese Medicine give her a deep understanding of the body, its anatomy and physiology. Using hands on adjustments she guides her students through their asana practice in the ashtanga vinyasa method. She believes the 8-limb [ashtanga] practice can heal many physical and emotional ailments.

        Three of the many things we love about Ana are: gentleness, directness, and devotion

        Dianne Billig has been practicing Yoga for over ten years, and a certified Kid's Yoga Instructor since 2005. She is certified through Karma Kids Yoga, Radiant Child, Buddha Baby, Yoga Kids International and Street Yoga. Dianne's Yoga classes invoke creativity, while promoting strength, balance and independence. She has developed yoga programs for numerous camps, schools, yoga studios, and community centers.

        Her creativity and sense of adventure lend a special spark to each yoga experience. Dianne also owns a cookie company called Bits, Bites and Chunks...which creates some of the most delicious cookies, brownies and cupcakes around
        , hence the nickname "Cookie" stuck.  Through Yoga and cookies she is able to pass on her joy and gifts to others.

        Three of the many things we love about Cookie are: Encouragement, Excitement, Compassion.


         

        Jayne Mills

        2. How did you discover Yoga?
          Still discovering it.
        3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
          Men with accents.

          Gramma's garden served with fresh biscuits.                                                       
        5. What or Who inspires you?
          My 3 children and the enlightened among us.

        Jayne has been an avid yogini since 1988, studying primarily in the styles of Bikram and Ashtanga yoga.  She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, completing her formal training through the YogaFox program hosted at Red Pearl Yoga in 2009. 

        Jayne relies daily on her asana, pranayama and meditation practice to balance her busy life as a Certified Investment Management Analyst, Financial Advisor and mother of three teenagers.  Jayne enjoys writing and teaching about the connection between yoga and financial well-being.

        Three of the many things we love about Jayne are: Directness, Dependability and Dedication.

         



        Lisa Pumper

          After a difficult pregnancy.

          South Beach.

          Can I say everything?
        5. What or Who inspires you?
          My husband Scott & son Tyler.

        After several years of study and teaching the Astanga Vinyasa system Lisa expanded her knowledge by earning her certification from the Hatha Pradipika Research Institute. She is registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. Lisa co-founded and coordinates the Aananda Yoga Teacher Training Program. 

        Lisa is dedicated to helping students have a better understanding of their bodies and how to obtain optimal living.She also founded the Yoga cOMunity of South Florida, whose mission is to connect Yogis throughout South Florida, creating awareness and community through events, community listings and more.

        Three of the many things we love about Lisa are:  Generosity, Integrity, Community.

          A friend brought me to a Kundalini class.

          Travel--I learn so much from the people I meet

        After discovering yoga in 1998 Carole has developed a devoted practice and passion for yoga that continues to grow and expand. Her classes inspire students to achieve their inner greatness through alignment, strength building and self awareness. She has completed teacher trainings with Anusara founder John Friend and Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga founder Shiva Rea.  She also completed Shiva Rea’s Pre natal yoga training.

        Three of the many things we love about Carole are: Dedication to her craft, Authenticity, and really good Foodie Connections.
