What  is the material that will be covered during the program and how is it presented?

This Teacher Training program is based on the requirements of Yoga Alliance as well as Swami Svatmarama’s Hatha Yoga Pradipika.  The students learn the four aspects of Hatha Yoga: Postures, Breathing exercises, Mudras, and Meditation.  For the detailed study of postures, the students study B.K.S. Iyengar’s “Light on Yoga” and for Anatomy and Physiology, Ray Long’s “The Key Muscles of Hatha Yoga. TT4

Along with that students learn the basics of writing, reading, and pronouncing Sanskrit language.  The non-detailed study includes Yoga Sutras and Bhagavat Gita. Students learn the popular yoga styles of today such as: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Sivananda Yoga,  Partner Yoga, Kids Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Budokon  etc. As well as other areas such as assisting, correcting and so on. This material will be covered in class and homework.  As part of Yoga therapy, we will be teaching Ayurveda and Yoga for Ailments.
